Founded in 2018, Niigaan which means “Moving Forward – Looking Ahead” is a partnership with Saskounan, a Cree company from the community of Chisasibi in James Bay.

Projects
Niigaan, in collaboration with Saskounan, have participated in many projects on the Cree territory over the past few years. Among others, the construction of 8 triplexes for the Cree Health Board of Chisasibi, the construction of streets and municipal services in a new sector of Chisasibi, the ROW clearing of a 25 kV line to connect relay 381 on the James Bay road as well as mechanical clearing work along the Transtaïga road for the SDBJ. All of thses works were performed with the involvement of local Cree workers.
Niigaan’s professional services department, which includes forest engineers, biologists and civil engineers, have realized intervention permit mandates for a mining exploration company as well as a pre-feasibility study for an access road.
